05/12/06 Lammack Town Ladies v Accrington Stanley Ladies
It was back to earth with a bump for Accrington Stanley Ladies FC, with a tough game against League leaders Lammack Town Ladies at UCLAN Sports Arena in Preston.
With Stanley battling against the elements for the full 45 minutes, it was a very tough game to play in for all the girls involved.
It was Lammack that looked the stronger and with a number of girls playing for teams in the Northern Combination 11-a-side League it was a tough game which saw Stanley go down to a hard-fought 11-3 loss.
It could be said that the weather did play havoc with the game and should not have been played at all, but we can all have excuses when your team loses so the team will not dwell on that for too long!
The goals that did go in for Stanley Ladies were superb shots again from Hannah Jones (1) and Amy Sowerbutts (2). The bonus being a home tie against Morecambe on Sunday, weather permitting that is!

27/11/06 Anyone for Hockey? v Accrington Stanley Ladies
After the disappointment of not playing in over three weeks due to waterlogged pitches around the County, it was a welcome relief for the girls to be playing in Preston in the UCLAN Women’s Five-A-Side Winter League.
Currently lying in fourth position Stanley had a chance of climbing the table if they could muster a win against Anyone for Hockey? A university team based in Carlisle.
Throughout, Accrington Stanley were the stronger and with a number of players coming back from injury and a number of trialists on show it was an impressive start with Accrington producing a four-goal head start. Heads then dropped and some of the girls got a little cocky and the four-goal lead turned into a 6-5 losing streak. That was until the introduction of a trialist and now newly signed player Hannah Jones who came on to settle a few nerves.
A pacy left-winger she scored a fantastic hat-trick and also finished off a great second half with a fourth. A mention must go out to all the girls who played who competed very well against a team that has been together for three years. Next up are Lammack Ladies who currently occupy top spot!
